Fabric Art- All Levels
Learn the basics of fabric dyeing and surface design to create one-of-a-kind cloth. A variety of mediums and processes will be introduced and explored. Techniques such as: shibori dyeing, photo transfer, discharging, small format silk screen printing and other fun methods of surface design will be taught. Colour and design elements will also be . Students will finish the course with beautiful fabric and the confidence to continue creating fabric art on their own. Material fees are included with the registration fee and includes fabric. Material fee: $25.00

Hand Embroidery for the Beginner
Participants will learn how to choose the right threads, needles and fabrics for their fabrics and projects. Basic stitches such as the running stitch, the cross stitch, and flat stitches and their variations will be taught. Different pattern transfer techniques will also be taught. Learners will complete the class with a reference sampler and notes. Personal projects are encouraged. A kit of tools and materials for lessons will be provided. Final price includes material fee of $25.00.

Hand Embroidery for the Intermediate
This course is ideal for the novice embroiderer who wants to further develop their skills in embroidery. You will explore more complex stitches; develop your skills in colour and design and learn methods of finishing and mounting work. Students will finish the class with several finished projects, a small sampler and reference material of stitches. Final price includes material fee of $20.00.

Learn traditional and contemporary batik techniques, using beeswax and soy wax.
The Batik Class will no longer be offered in the General Interest program.
Fabric Art, Embroidery and Colour Workshops are available to Guilds, groups or in private lessons. The workshops can be available as a series or individual workshops.
Costs are $200.00 for a half a day, or $400.00 for a full day.
Additional fees will be applied for material fees and travel expenses, (depending on distance).
