Learn traditional and contemporary batik techniques, using beeswax and soy wax. Learn how to apply wax with brushes, jtanting tools, and wooden blocks, as well as making your own, tools with found objects, such as wire, wood, and paper. Using Low Water Immersion with fibre reactive dyes, students will create their own cloth by developing layers using pattern and colour adapting designs for the use of bags, totes, quilts and other fabric art creations. Material fees are included with the registration fee not including fabric. Prepared fabric is available for sale during class or students can bring their own. Material fee: $15.00.

Fabric Art- All Levels
Learn the basics of fabric dyeing and surface design to create one-of-a-kind cloth. Students will have the opportunity to explore a variety of mediums and processes. Techniques such as: shibori dyeing, photo transfer, discharging, small format silk screen printing and other fun methods of surface design. Colour and design elements will also be taught. Students will finish the course with beautiful fabric and the confidence to continue creating fabric art on their own. Material fees are included with the registration fee and includes fabric. Material fee: $40.00
The Fabric Arts class has been cancelled for the 2018 winter session.
Fabric Art Workshop Series provides students in Grade 4 to Grade 12 the opportunity to explore the process of creating cloth through a series of hands-on workshops. Students will have an opportunity to explore the elements and principles of design, and colour, according to the school curriculum.

Fabric Art Workshop Series for Adults is available to Guilds, groups or as private lessons. The workshops are offered as a series or individual workshops.
Costs are $200.00 for a half a day, or $400.00 for a full day, plus material fees and travel expenses, depending on distance.
